LINEAGEN RESEARCH CORPORATION
Vision
Advance the genetic understanding of physiological conditions and disease states and transform that understanding into targeted diagnostics and therapeutic products that will personalize healthcare and alleviate human suffering.
Overview
LineaGen is a Utah non-profit biotechnology contract research and licensing organization that utilizes a powerful population genetics discovery platform to identify and validate biomarkers, coordinate clinical trials, and identify health-promoting and disease-causing genetic factors.
LineaGen's key and central asset is its ability to provide commercial access to research projects using the Utah Population Database (UPDB) and related information assets, and broker these programs and services to industry partners under strictly controlled ethical and privacy guidelines. LineaGen is committed in continuing with the extremely high standards for control of the confidential information contained within the repository.
The UPDB is an extensive compilation of genetic, epidemiological, demographic, and public health statistics on Utah families compiled by the University of Utah. It is part of a large, comprehensive biomedical research repository, which is an integrated network of patient records linking biosample repositories with genetic and clinical information from on-going population-based studies.
Discoveries resulting from analysis of this repository have led University of Utah researchers to discover multiple disease-causing genes in cancer, heart disease and neurological disorders, as well as autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, metabolic disorders, central nervous system disorders, and age-related conditions.
LineaGen has collaborated with some of the leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology entities in the world, and these partnerships are putting UPDB data to work identifying biomarkers, validating therapeutic targets, and investigating therapies for respiratory and other diseases.
LineaGen is seeking partners to license intellectual property in our core areas of research, fund ongoing discovery research, and launch new discovery research programs.
LineaGen is uniquely positioned to advance the genetic understanding of physiological conditions and disease states, including both common diseases and orphan indications, as well as to transform this understanding into targeted diagnostics and therapeutic products that will personalize healthcare and alleviate human suffering.
