TECH-X

Tech-X is a research initiative intended to bring great minds from industry together with those from the University of Utah to address and solve long term issues. The-X represents the diverse areas of research that both industry and academia are focusing on in hopes of impacting our world. The number of technologies that could be substituted for X would begin to characterize the depth and breadth of knowledge and expertise that exist here at the U.

MISSION

  1. Generate high value industry and university collaborations that:
    1. Facilitate the interactions between academia and industry to address challenging problems.
    2. Lead to solutions that currently have no good solution.
    3. Develop new innovations and technologies.
  2. Leverage existing resources, development campaigns and consortia models such as, but not limited to, the Institute for Energy and Geoscience (EGI), Utah Population Database (UPDB), Utah Science Technology and Research (USTAR) initiative as a starting foundation.
  3. Creates the interface between the university and its corporate partners. It is a place that brings interdisciplinary departments together to foster creativity, innovation and develop new technical solutions.
